WA Government Invests $332 Million into Geraldton Port

Through the 2022-23 State Budget, the Western Australian Government is investing $332 million towards Mid West Ports Authority’s Port Maximisation Project that will enable the Geraldton Port to meet increasing demands for services. The Port Maximisation Project will include works such as: Demolition and reconstruction of the berth ½ with associated ship loading and material handling infrastructure, to facilitate the sand, urea and spodumene products, that are incompatible with iron ore and requires dedicated facilities Rationalisation of port infrastructure to reduce operational maintenance costs Road works (to facilitate the significant increase in truck movements) Other associated infrastructure, such as additional vessels, …

Grange Development submits plans for the World’s tallest timber tower in South Perth The world’s tallest $350 million hybrid timber tower with 245 apartments over 48 levels could soon be built in South Perth. Developer, Grange Development wants to build a 183m-high residential building with one, two, three and four-bedroom apartments and a 500sqm rooftop with an edible garden. The proposed building at 6 Charles Street is named C6 after the periodic table’s symbol for carbon and would become the State’s first carbon-negative building. A 54-storey tower has been approved at Lot 4 of Elizabeth Quay – the last remaining parcel of land at the waterside precinct. The $400 million building will take shape on the corner of The Esplanade and William Street, opposite the Elizabeth Quay Station, and will deliver 70,000sqm of office space and 176 short-stay accommodation units to the CBD.
