Perth Airport to open first hotel on site as part of a $5 billion infrastructure program.

Perth Airport has partnered with Accor, Australia’s largest hotel group, to operate it’s first on-site hotel, which is part of the $5 billion infrastructure upgrade planned over the next decade. The new Pullman Perth Airport hotel, is projected to open in 2027 and will feature 240 rooms across eight floors, along with a rooftop restaurant and bar, café, gym, sauna, meeting rooms and co-working spaces. Work is set to begin on additional upgrades for the Great Eastern Highway in Western Australia. A $23 million contract awarded to Fulton Hogan will fund improvements, including road reconstruction, widening, and sealing across three key sections of the highway. Atlas Iron has received the final approval from the Federal government for the development of a new iron ore mine in Western Australia. Located at about 100 kilometers north of the Roy Hill mine and 30 kilometers north of Nullagine, the McPhee Creek mine will be build on Nyamal land, with ore transported through Palyku territory. Although the mine is projected to produce only 1.5% of Australia’s iron ore exports—the project faced a lengthy approval process, which began in early 2021. Construction has started for 4,500 homes as part of the Burswood Point redevelopment, supported by the Cook Government to boost housing supply in Western Australia. As part of the preparations for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, an $87 million contract has been awarded to BMD for the first phase of the Northshore Brisbane Street Renewal Program. This phase includes upgrading roadways and landscape infrastructure, with the creation of a sub-tropical boulevard with bike lanes, walkways, and lush landscaping along Macarthur Avenue. The athlete village accommodation at Northshore Brisbane will be repurposed into a variety of housing options, including market, affordable, hotel, retirement, and social housing, in addition to community, recreational, and leisure facilities following the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
