The Opportunity

Due to continued growth across the WA infrastructure and resources sectors, we are working with a number of established civil contractors looking to strengthen their estimating teams in Perth.

These opportunities suit Civil Estimators with 2 to 12 years of experience, as well as Project Engineers or Site Engineers who have gained exposure to tendering and are looking to move into or further develop within pre-contracts.

You will be part of established estimating teams delivering competitive tenders across a diverse range of civil construction projects, with exposure to large scale infrastructure and resources work across WA.

Project Exposure and Technical Environment

You will work across a broad range of civil construction and infrastructure projects, typically valued from $5M through to $500M+.

Project scopes may include:

• Bulk earthworks and site preparation
• Roads and highways construction
• Land development and subdivisions
• Underground utilities including water, sewer, and drainage
• Concrete structures including FRP works
• Mining infrastructure and Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI)
• Dewatering systems and associated civil works
• Mine rehabilitation and closure projects

Estimating and Software Environment

You will be working within established pre-contracts teams using industry standard systems and tools, including:

• Expert Estimation or similar platforms.
• Candy or Benchmark for cost planning and tendering.
• Advanced Excel for cost analysis, rate build ups, and reporting.

The Role

• Working within pre-contracts teams, your responsibilities may include:
• Preparing detailed quantity take offs across multiple civil scopes
• Developing first principles estimates and cost plans
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
• Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing
• Supporting tender submissions and bid documentation
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities within bids
• Contributing to methodology development and construction planning
• Leading or supporting estimating teams depending on experience
• Mentoring junior estimators and supporting team development
• For senior candidates, there will be opportunities to lead tenders, manage estimating teams, and contribute to broader pre-contracts strategy.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in civil construction or infrastructure projects.
• Background as a Civil Estimator or site-based experience as a Project Engineer, Site Engineer, or Quantity Surveyor.
• Exposure to civil scopes such as earthworks, roads, utilities, pipelines, concrete, or mining infrastructure.
• Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.
• Experience with estimating systems such as Expert, Candy, Benchmark, or similar.
• Advanced Excel skills.
