Pilbara Ports has awarded the Stage Two construction contract for the $million Dampier Cargo Wharf Projects
Pilbara Ports has awarded the Stage Two construction contract for the Dampier Cargo Wharf Projects, marking another key step in expanding port infrastructure on Western Australia’s mid north coast.
The contract for the Dampier Link Bridge has been awarded to a joint venture between NRW Pty Ltd and Brady Marine and Civil Pty Ltd.
The joint venture will design and build a new 57-metre bridge connecting the existing Dampier Cargo Wharf to the Dampier Bulk Handling Facility.
Stage Two works will also include the demolition and removal of the Southern Mooring Dolphin, piling works, and the construction of a reinforced concrete deck. Once completed, the bridge will improve direct shipping services by creating a seamless connection between the new bulk handling facility and the existing cargo wharf.
The Australian Government has committed $565 million to common user port infrastructure upgrades across the Pilbara, including $115 million for the Port of Dampier. Federal Infrastructure Minister Catherine King said the investment will help future-proof one of Australia’s most important export gateways as demand continues to grow.
