The City of Swan has awarded a landmark $145 million construction contract to build in Perth’s North East.
The City of Swan has awarded a $145 million construction contract to ADCO Constructions Pty Ltd for the Swan Active Ellenbrook facility, marking the council’s largest ever project. Supported by $42 million in state and federal grants, this major investment will deliver a state-of-the-art regional aquatic and recreation centre located beside the new Ellenbrook transport station.
The project is expected to generate strong economic growth across Perth’s north-eastern corridor. It will create significant construction employment, stimulate local businesses, and attract ongoing foot traffic that supports retail, hospitality and service operators in the town centre. Once complete, the facility will continue contributing to the region’s leisure-based economy for decades.
Swan Active Ellenbrook will feature a 50-metre competition pool, a 25-metre pool, leisure and toddler pools, water slides, indoor and outdoor sports courts, a modern gym, group fitness rooms, wellness areas, a crèche, café and high-quality landscaped outdoor spaces. The build is targeting a 5-Star Green Star equivalent rating, reinforcing sustainability alongside economic benefit.
Through this major infrastructure project, ADCO and the City of Swan are delivering long-term community value, promoting healthy and active lifestyles, strengthening social connection and supporting future urban growth in one of Perth’s fastest-developing areas.
