WA’S $1.4 BILLION CLEAN ENERGY FUND TO POWER MAJOR INFRASTRUCTURE AND JOBS
Western Australia’s clean energy transition is set for a major boost, with the State Government committing $1.4 billion to support transmission and network infrastructure ahead of coal-fired power station closures by 2030.
The funding will help deliver key projects including Clean Energy Link – East and Clean Energy Link – North, expanding WA’s power network to unlock more renewable energy across the Southwest and Mid-West.
Together, the projects are expected to deliver 3GW of renewable energy to commercial, industrial and residential customers, while creating around 800 local construction jobs.
The investment follows a previous $1.6 billion network commitment and will support terminals, substations, transformers and high-capacity transmission lines – strengthening WA’s energy infrastructure while supporting industry, jobs and long-term economic growth.
