The duplication of the Mandurah Estuary Bridge, located south of Perth in Western Australia, is moving forward towards construction. Georgiou Group has been chosen as the preferred contractor to design and build the project. The $110 million project will create a second, two-lane bridge on the south side of the existing one. Additionally, a four-meter-wide shared path will be built to improve community connectivity and recreational access. A universally accessible fishing platform will also be provided. The hybrid timber tower standing at 183 meters in height, designed by Fraser and Partners, has received development approval. The 51-story building is poised to become the tallest hybrid timber tower globally, surpassing the current record holder, Atlassian’s hybrid timber tower in Sydney, designed by Shop Architects and BVN. Constructed with more than 10,000 tonnes of rock and with steel pipes, the first temporary Fitzroy River causeway with low-level crossing, a five metre-wide 200 metre-long, and single-lane rock, will be open to four-wheel-vehicles on April 3, 2023 at 10 am.
