$339.9M Investment to Drive Safer Roads and Infrastructure Growth Across WA
The Cook Labor Government has committed a further $339.9 million to improve road safety across Western Australia, targeting high-risk routes and reducing fatalities across both metropolitan and regional networks.
A key component of the funding includes $80 million for the Regional Road Safety Program, expanding upgrades across local government roads. Works will focus on proven safety treatments such as shoulder sealing, audible edge lines and enhanced road markings—critical improvements that significantly reduce crash severity, particularly in regional areas.
Beyond the safety benefits, this investment represents a substantial boost for WA’s civil construction and infrastructure sector.
The scale and consistency of funding will sustain a strong pipeline of works, driving demand for:
- Civil contractors and subcontractors
- Project engineers, supervisors and site teams
- Road maintenance and upgrade specialists
With thousands of kilometres of road upgrades already delivered under the program, this latest funding reinforces long-term infrastructure investment while supporting regional employment, contractor engagement and ongoing project delivery.
As WA continues to prioritise safer roads, the flow-on impact to construction, engineering and infrastructure jobs remains significant—ensuring both immediate and sustained opportunities across the sector.
