Western Australia Leads the Nation in Economic Performance

Western Australia has reaffirmed its position as the nation’s strongest economy, recording the highest domestic economic growth of all Australian states.  According to the Cook Labor Government, the result of CommSec’s State of the States report, highlights the state’s ongoing resilience and the success of its disciplined financial management.

The report emphasised Western Australia’s strong performance across a range of key indicators, supported by steady business investment, robust household spending, and responsible budget surpluses. The government credited its focus on sound economic stewardship for maintaining confidence and stability amid national and global uncertainty.

A major highlight was workforce performance. The WA Labor Government’s commitment to developing a skilled and productive workforce was recognised, with employment sitting 14.6 per cent above the decade average. The state also recorded the fastest annual wages growth in Australia at 3.7 per cent, reflecting strong demand for labour and rising incomes for Western Australians.

Overall, the statement portrays a state that continues to lead the country in economic growth, job creation, and fiscal strength—cementing Western Australia’s reputation as the economic powerhouse of the nation and demonstrating the government’s success in sustaining prosperity for its people.
