$165M EAST PERTH PRIMARY SCHOOL MOVES INTO MAJOR CONSTRUCTION PHASE

Another major Perth construction project is progressing, with CPB Contractors awarded the main design and construction tender for the $165 million East Perth Primary School.

The appointment marks a significant milestone for the project, following CPB Contractors’ earlier involvement in early works, earthworks and design development.

Set to become a landmark piece of education infrastructure for Perth’s growing inner-city population, the new school will feature a unique four-storey vertical design and initially accommodate around 600 students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

The project will include general learning areas, kindergarten and pre-primary classrooms, specialist science facilities, an art room, library, canteen and administration areas. Plans also include a school hall, music rooms, out-of-hours school care facilities, hard courts, green space and landscaped play areas.

Designed specifically for its inner-city location, the school will also have capacity for a future expansion of approximately 200 additional students, taking its potential capacity to around 800.

Project architects EIW and ARM Architecture have been working on the design, with CPB Contractors now moving forward with the major construction phase.

The new school is expected to open for Term 1, 2029, providing additional education capacity for East Perth and surrounding inner-city communities while helping relieve enrolment pressure on nearby schools.

The $165 million investment adds another substantial project to Perth’s construction pipeline as investment continues across education, community and social infrastructure.
