Civil Contractors Federation WA’s Defence Infrastructure Breakfast 2025

On Wednesday, 12th November, ECi Executive had the privilege of attending the Civil Contractors Federation WA’s Defence Infrastructure Breakfast at Fraser’s Kings Park, where nearly 300 industry leaders gathered to explore the future of defence-related development across Western Australia.

The event opened with a keynote address from the Minister for Defence Industries, the Hon. Paul Papalia CSC MLA, who set the scene for discussions around the expanding pipeline of defence infrastructure projects in WA. His insights highlighted the strategic importance of the sector and the opportunities emerging for industry collaboration and innovation.

This was followed by an engaging and high-calibre panel discussion featuring some of the sector’s most respected leaders:

  • Linda Dawson, Head of the Office of Defence Industries
  • Peter Anusas FICE, General Manager Empower Advisory, BMD Group
  • Mark Davidovic, General Manager Western Region, Seymour Whyte
  • Shannon Orr, Defence Delivery Leader Australia, GHD
  • Brendan Sowry, General Manager Defence, CPB Contractors

The panel explored the challenges and opportunities shaping WA’s defence infrastructure landscape, offering attendees valuable perspectives on capability, workforce planning, and long-term industry readiness.

We were delighted to participate in this important industry event and look forward to supporting the continued growth and capability of the defence infrastructure sector in Western Australia.
