$100M Construction to Perth gateway resulting in new job opportunities for the local economy.

Construction has started on the $100 million Causeway pedestrian and cyclist bridges. The project features two cable-stayed bridges, which provides a 6m wide shared path that links Victoria Park foreshore at McCallum Park with Heirisson Island and Perth’s CBD at Pint Fraser.

The project, which is part of the $1.5 billion Perth City deal, aims to provide alternative transport options with greater connectivity and to further enhance the natural environment and public amenity.

The project’s goal is to improve the safety, connectivity and amenity for people commuting to work and school, and for tourists as well.

The Causeway Link Alliance which comprises Civmec Construction and Engineering, Seymour Whyte Constructions Pty, WSP Australia Pty and Main Roads – are tasked to deliver the project.

As Perth’s population continues to grow, the dedicated pedestrian and cycling infrastructure has become too narrow to accommodate the current demand of cyclists and pedestrians using these paths.

Record high investments amounts have been injected to the economy in the span of four years resulting in new job opportunities that would create a positive impact to the community and the economy.

Funded by the Federal and Western Australian Government, the Causeway Pedestrian and Cyclist Bridges project is expected to be completed in the late 2024.
