Western Australia’s transport infrastructure pipeline continues to gather momentum, with the CPB Contractors, McConnell Dowell, Arup Australia Projects and Jacobs Group consortium appointed as the preferred proponent to deliver the $700 million Kwinana Freeway Upgrade between Roe Highway and Safety Bay Road.

The project will deliver additional lanes, upgraded interchanges and smarter traffic management systems, improving safety, reducing congestion and increasing capacity along one of Perth’s busiest transport corridors.

Beyond improving the road network, the project is expected to create up to 4,180 jobs throughout design and construction, generating strong demand for civil construction professionals, engineers, project managers, HSE specialists, surveyors, commercial teams, skilled trades and a broad network of local suppliers and subcontractors.

The investment represents another major commitment to Western Australia’s growing infrastructure pipeline, supporting economic activity and strengthening the State’s transport network to meet future population and freight demands.

As construction progresses, projects of this scale continue to create long-term employment opportunities, boost local industry participation and reinforce confidence in WA’s infrastructure sector.
